PRODUCTS & TECHNOLOGY
The technology behind your operation’s visibility
Bring field measurements, personnel locations, and detection systems into view. Combine wanwave sensors, gateways, software, and communications to suit your environment and connect the information to the systems your team uses.

Choose the building blocks your operation needs
SENSORS
Measure conditions in the field
Monitor levels, consumption, temperature, humidity, air quality, and other conditions using wanwave’s range of low-power sensors.
GATEWAYS
Connect your sensor network
Receive transmissions over wanwave’s proprietary long-range network and forward sensor data to your software or existing IT systems.
SOFTWARE
Put measurements into context
Use industry-specific platforms to review measurements, trends, maps, and alerts, with functions suited to the information your team needs.
SECURITY
Extend monitoring and coordination
Combine perimeter sensing, drone detection, personnel tracking, and field communications to suit fixed or mobile security operations.
NETWORK & INTEGRATION
From field measurements to the systems you use
Long-range, low-power sensing
wanwave sensors transmit measurements to gateways over our proprietary low-power communications protocol. Extended reception range helps reduce the number of gateways needed, while low-power operation supports years of battery life, depending on the device and reporting frequency.
The protocol supports moving devices and network roaming. Coverage is planned around your terrain, buildings, antenna placement and site conditions.
Choose where your data goes
Connect sensor data to your existing IT systems or use wanwave’s industry-specific platforms. Choose cloud hosting or a local installation to suit your operational requirements.
For larger projects, we can tailor hardware, software and integration, and size the platform around your device count and data volume.
PROTOCOL PROTECTION
Protection built into field communications
wanwave combines message encryption and protocol-level protections to help safeguard sensor communications.
Message encryption
AES-128 encryption protects the contents of messages transmitted over the wanwave sensor network.
Spoofing and replay protection
Protocol safeguards help protect against forged device messages and attempts to reuse previously transmitted messages.
Interference resistance
Dynamic coding and radio-noise resistance support communication in challenging radio environments. Reception still depends on local conditions and interference levels.
DEPLOYMENT & OPERATION
Less configuration. More flexibility in the field.
Build a monitoring network around your environment, the measurements you need and the way your team operates.
Preconfigured devices
Sensors and gateways require no user configuration to begin network operation. Install the equipment and provide the power and gateway connectivity your deployment requires.
License-exempt radio operation
The wanwave protocol operates in license-exempt frequency bands, subject to local spectrum rules and equipment requirements.
Hardware for demanding environments
Choose devices with operating-temperature ratings and enclosure protection suited to your site, including demanding outdoor environments.

HOW THE SENSOR NETWORK WORKS
From field devices to useful information
Four connected layers carry measurements from your site to the software your team uses.
01 / MEASURE
Sensors in the field
Devices collect measurements and transmit them over the wanwave LPWAN protocol. Choose sensors and reporting frequencies suited to your operation.
02 / RECEIVE
Gateways at your site
Gateways receive available device messages and forward them to the network server through a supported connection, such as cellular or Ethernet.
03 / PROCESS
The network server
The server checks incoming messages, removes duplicates received through multiple gateways, and routes the data to the appropriate applications.
04 / USE
Your applications
Review measurements and alerts in wanwave platforms, or receive the data in your existing systems through REST API or MQTT.
APPLICATION INTEGRATION
Bring sensor data into your existing systems
Applications receive processed device data from the wanwave network server. REST API and MQTT provide two ways to connect it to your dashboards, monitoring software, and operational tools.

REST API
Access network-server data through a REST API for use in your own applications and workflows. Define the required data and integration around the systems you already use.
MQTT
Receive device data through MQTT, a messaging protocol widely used in IoT. Connect the wanwave network to applications that support MQTT or to an integration layer.
For larger projects, we can tailor the software and integration to your device count, data volume, and operational requirements.
NETWORK SERVER HOSTING
Choose cloud service or a local installation
The network server processes device messages and manages their delivery to applications. Choose where it runs to suit your infrastructure and operating requirements.
wanwave cloud service
Use the shared wanwave network service without maintaining your own network server. wanwave manages the service’s scalability and fault tolerance, while applications receive the processed device data.
Locally hosted network server
Run a dedicated network server on your own infrastructure when cloud use is restricted or local operation is required. It serves your assigned gateways. Software licensing, support, and infrastructure reliability are planned as part of this deployment.
Network-server hosting and application hosting are separate choices. We’ll define both, along with gateway connectivity and integration, as part of your project.
